“EMDR therapy targets the unprocessed memories that contain the negative emotions, sensations and beliefs. By activating the brain’s information processing system the old memories can then be 'digested' ...what is useful is learned, what’s useless is discarded, and the memory is now stored in a way that is no longer damaging.”

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is a structured psychotherapeutic approach that encourages individuals to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

EMDR therapy considers trauma, grief, anxiety, phobias, and other disorders to result from past disturbing experiences that continue to cause distress because the memory was not adequately processed. These unprocessed memories are understood to contain the emotions, thoughts, beliefs and physical sensations that occurred at the time of the event. When the memories are triggered these stored disturbing elements are experienced and cause the symptoms of present disorders.

EMDR is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach that allows individuals to resolve deep seated trauma, beliefs, emotional distress and move towards a healthier and fulfilling life.

Flash Technique

The Flash Technique (FT) is a new, evidence-based therapeutic method designed to alleviate the discomfort caused by traumatic or distressing memories. Unlike traditional trauma therapies, FT is minimally invasive and does not require the client to consciously revisit the traumatic memory. This enables the client to process these memories without experiencing emotional distress. When used alongside the EMDR preparation phase or any exposure-based treatment, FT helps process memories that might otherwise be too overwhelming or intolerable for the client.

FT is beneficial for both children and adults of all ages. It is effective in treating a broad range of issues, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mild to severe dissociation, depression, and more.

EMDR Couple Therapy

EMDR therapy has expanded from primarily addressing overt traumas resulting from direct actions to also treating the more subtle and often invisible effects of omission traumas. Early relational experiences, particularly with attachment figures and intimate partners, play a significant role in shaping adult relationship strategies. Neglecting essential childhood developmental needs or engaging in inconsistent or unhealthy relational patterns can have a long-lasting impact. EMDR’s ability to address learned responses to adversity makes it a powerful tool in working with couples, particularly those caught in toxic interaction cycles.
